What is LASIK like?

Laser vision correction can be life changing, allowing patients who were completely dependent on glasses and contact lenses to be free of them.

Dr. Rosenthal employs sophisticated technology to measure and evaluate your eyes’ condition prior to surgery.  It is of utmost importance that we determine that laser eye surgery be safe in your particular case, and we will perform a comprehensive series of diagnostic tests and evaluation by Dr. Rosenthal personally to provide this assurance.

Although LASIK is a form of surgery, it is performed at our center with a minimally invasive technique, resulting in rapid healing, and a high degree of success.   Like all medical procedures, there can be potential risks to this treatment, and your individual risk profile will be discussed prior to your making a decision to proceed.

Before any treatment takes place, you’ll have a thorough consultation with our experienced surgeon, Dr. Kenneth Rosenthal who will give you a complete diagnosis of your unique vision problem.  By carefully measuring your eyes and discussing your needs and expectations in detail, we can recommend the best treatment for you.

Steps of LASIK Surgery

How long does LASIK Eye Surgery take?

The surgery itself is completed in approximately 10 – 20 minutes. Some recover immediately, while others may take days or weeks, depending on the individual. However, you can be rest assured that you’ll be back at home again with your feet up shortly after your laser eye surgery procedure.

You will find the aftercare is remarkably easy too.  You’ll be given eye drops to use regularly, and you might want to take it easy for a few days, but that’s about it.  Most LASIK patients return to work after just two days. You’ll also need to come back for a few follow-up appointments, to make sure everything is going well.

As one of the most common and successful forms of elective surgery, laser eye surgery will vastly improve your eyesight and get you back to doing the things you love.
